Possum, who recently passed away quite unexpectedly, was the light of my life. She came into our lives on July 4, 2009. She was a rescue dog and had a bit of mastiff, German shepard, Rodesian ridgeband and cattle dog in her. She was definitely my girl. She loved to sit on my bed and being quite a big girl (almost 50 kilos) she took-up 3/4’s of the bed. I miss her when I go into the kitchen and the floor is dry — she was the sloppiest drinker I’d ever met, and drooling, don’t get me started!
She loved to meet people and was more than willing to have lots of pats. She enjoyed going through your legs and being quite tall, you had to stretch up so she could get through. She LOVED going for walks and was disappointed the last two Christmas holidays when she had knee surgeries and wasn’t allowed to take walks or climb stairs for while. She always had a smile on her face and loved going to dog school to meet the other dogs and perhaps get more pats. After her passing, I realized even more what a sweet baby she was from the comments we received. She was three weeks shy of her 7th birthday. I miss her.
